blipp (809), Grand Island, New York, USA Apr 18, 2008 Cask at The Old Toad in Rochester NY. Poured almost black with a fizzy beige head. Aroma is woody, dominated by roasted malt, and also has notes of sweet milk chocolate and vanilla. Nice full body, very smooth. Flavor is more bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, burnt wood, and a hint of fruit. Very nice. zach8270 (1421), Henrietta, New York, USA Jan 12, 2008 (cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Dark brown in color with a fizzy tan head. Aroma is very deep and earthy with some light hints of oak, lots of roasted malts, and a touch of vanilla. Flavor is earthy as well. Oak isn’t very apparent in the flavor. Lots of roasted and toasted malts dominate the flavor with a smooth yet bitter middle and a rather burnt and dark finish.
