Roasted malt flavor/aroma; really smoky. Some caramel flavor. Moderate bitterness, with a weird bitter aftertaste. Some tannin-like mouthfeel.

No aroma for a smoked beer. Not bad but has a metallic taste. Not impressive but not over bearing on the smoke. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Braudog (6342) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - APR 8, 2012
Draft at the Ogden brewpub. Nice visual -- deep reddish black with a quality head of tan foam. The aroma has a nice roasty front but ends with a hint of dirty dish water. The senses are reversed when you drink it -- the initial inhale being off-putting, but once you get the air out of your mouth and its just the beer, you get a burnt bark, anise and chocolate malt concoction.
