Cask at The Dean Swift, London. Pours clear gold with a small, white foam. Biscuity bread aroma, light toast. Medium sweet flavor, toasty biscuits, light straw, fine grass and hints of toasted sugar. Medium bodied with fine, soft carbonation. Sweet, faintly sticky finish, lightly toasted bread, some hay. Very easy, decent beer.

Pint at the Central in Gateshead. Quite pale for a bitter with a thin white head. Lemony tropical fruit aroma, and a bit of biscuit in the flavour. I did find the palate slightly creamy, which contrasted nicely with a bitter finish.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber gold with a small white head. A little peppery grain and sweet fruit in the aroma. I had some German bread a bit like that once. Sweet malt taste with a little lemon. Slight bitterness. Odd but perfectly acceptable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 14, 2008
A Mes rate: Cask at The White Horse. Very slightly hazy gold with a thin white head. Mellow hop aroma with some slight citrus. A little bland but nice enough. Flavour is pretty much as the nose with a little tobacco. What it lacks in flavour it makes up by just being nice. Floral and bitter finish. Very downable, a real quaffing beer.
