Cask handpull, The Old Bell Tavern, Harrogate, 18/04/11. Aroma of celery-smeared chopping board, English blossom (Hawthorn?), Yorkshire Snatch, Walkers chicken crips (one of the most pungent and overpoweringly pervasive aromas in the known universe- thanks to Octo for that one). Licked stone softness, Mother Shipton’s cave, stewed tea and rich tea, more Hawthorn, lemongrass soapiness but no real citrus. Packets of biscuits. Good, but overpowered by the loveliness of both the Salamander and Abbeydale.
