COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dark beer with a hint of coffee in the finish, brewed using a blend of four malts and English hops. Londinium is a nod to the beers of yesteryear and, in particular, the style made popular by the street and river porters in London in the eighteenth century.

Bottle Rehills Newcastle. Pours a fine jet black with an off white head. Rich roast coffee and chocolate beer, dry with rich blackcurrant notes. Milky flavours late on, which mellows the coffee flavour. Cough mixture really comes into play midway, it stays smooth throughout. Impressive.

Cask-conditioned at the Barley Mow, Bristol 4/5/2013. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Big coffe aroma, with a touch of dark fruit sweetness and some toastiness. Flavour was also coffee driven with a lingering, roasty finish. Very good.

Dark ruby brown with minimal lacing. Rich Flinty fruity roast coffee nose. Low carbonation, sweet caramel, then full on coffee punch with long fruity, dry smoky finish.

Bottle. Black. Slick tan foam receding to the edges of the glass. Rust, toast and coffee aroma. Smoky coffee, black chocolate, burnt toast and roasted nut flavour with a trickle of blackcurrant and bramble fruit beneath. Good porter. Drank it in about 5 mins.

Bottle from Tomlinsons, Inverness [050413]
Black, tan head that dissipates to thin layer, some lacing
Aroma of coffee, sweet dark malts, soft chocolate, roasted malts
Taste of roast coffee, thin dark malts, touch of bitter chocolate, not complex, tastes like a simple porter with black sweetish coffee added, coffee flavour not the greatest
Palate - Medium carb, thin body. Finish of bitter roast coffee, little dry, bitter coffee linger
Overall - This needs more body, it’s too thin and the coffee tastes like it’s been added...bit disappointing as I was expecting more but overall it’s OK...maybe a lot better on cask?
