A dark beer with a hint of coffee in the finish, brewed using a blend of four malts and English hops. Londinium is a nod to the beers of yesteryear and, in particular, the style made popular by the street and river porters in London in the eighteenth century.

Poured a deep reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma of roast coffee and dark chocolate. Medium to full body, flavour is perhaps biased a bit too much in favour of the coffee, some sweet milky chocolate hidden in the background.

Cask at London Drinker BF, black with a small head and aromas of coffee, chocolate and faintly of beef extract. Creamy texture with mocha and toasted malt notes, long dry-bitter and cocoa finish with a faint hint of plum.

Bottle from Valhalla’s Goat. Black body with ruby highlights. Medium beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of dirt, wet wood and charcoal. Flavour of bitter coffee, earth and ash. Medium body with a light, oily texture. Faint carbonation. A bitter, gritty Porter.

500ml bottle: BBE 05/15, poured into an Abbot ale glass tankard in 12/14. Proper dark brown body with a lasting tanned blanket of foam on top. Roasted, almost burnt malty nose and taste with a ground coffee trace, especially in the finish. Good body depth and a full feel to the texture, leaning towards creamy and oily slick in fact. Very pleasant indeed.

Cask @ Gallows Bird, Espoo. Aroma is mild with licorice and coffee. Also sweet syrupy tones. Flavour has coffee, licorice, some toffee, ash, hints of salt very mellow herbal tones. Smooth, pleasant and easy to drink. The saltiness & herbs become a bit unpleasant after some sips though.

Cask @ The State Bar. Very dark brown, not much head. Treacle coffee aroma. Bitter leafy coffee flavour. Earthy coffee aftertaste. Disappointing.

Cask. Dark brown in color, tan bubbly head. Roasted malts, dark and fresh salty licorice in aroma. Salty licorice with lingering roastyness in taste. Smooth coffee vibes as well in finish with some hints of bitterness mixed with even more salty licorice and there’s that light burnt feeling as well present.
