Bottled. The aroma has caramel malts, dried fruits, some grapefruits. Dark brown coloured beer with a big off-white head. The taste is caramel malty, bit roasty, has dark and dried fruitiness, piney hops, some citrus. Big beer. Bit of a DIPA-BW kind of thing.

2014 RBWG Sat night Downtown Inn bottle share. Cloudy brown body under a tan head. The aroma is sweet and complex. Fruits, caramel, toffee. The flavor is sweet, following the aroma but lacks the complexity of the aroma.

Bottle opened at RBWG, the Grand Tasting. 2008 vintage, series 4, bottle 152. Pours a hazy amber with a big tan head. Notes of cardboard, brown sugar, toasted malts, toffee, nuts, leaves, and fruitcake. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Hasnít aged all that well.

Bottle at the RBWG 2014 grand tasting, thanks! Pours a cloudy deep amber with a deep brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has sweet earthy grains with notes of toffee and smoke. Flavor has some light fruits, light smoke, toffee and lots of sweet grains.

Taster at RBWG 2014 grand tasting - thanks to the person who shared this! 1.5 liter magnum!! Dark brown red color. Thin khaki head. Some loose dots and ropes of lace. Lots of sherry, dark fruit notes in the nose. Moderate sweet, moderate bitter taste, light warmth, but hides the 14% alcohol very well! Iíd believe it if you told me 8-9%, whoa. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Bigger body. Lighter carbonation. Very interesting, tasty stuff. Complex, smooth, and well-aged. Good for a 2008 (I think that was the vintage)

22oz, white waxed bottle. 2008 Vintage, bottle # 101. Poured a dark brown color with a large sized white head. Fizzy and very carbonated body. Earthy, soil, and roast. Fizzy body detracted from the experience.

2008 1.5 L bottle shared by thebeercellar2. (i cant spell that fancy wine shit name). Thanks Matt! Pours dark brownish muddy amber with a thick, billowing yellow white head. Nose is super oxidized, paper, brown sugar. Similar flavor. Fun to try, but this beer was a little done for me.

2008 gigantic bottle thanks to Matt at RBWG! Pours a hazy copper with bubbly khaki head and little to no lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, cherries, and booze. Taste follows with a hint of toffee, but lots of dark fruit. A little too much for me after the 4 hours of drinking done at this point in the day, but Iím sure its great otherwise.
