steview (715), Oceanside, California, USA Apr 27, 2008 they apparently call it a red stout, the label says it is only a red organic ale, and RateBeer.com says it is an altbier... what the f*** is it? it is an earthy, sweet, and mildly spicy ale with nothing much going on for it; whatever, dude. ABUSEDGOAT (1784), California, USA Apr 8, 2008 Darker amber colored. Aroma is caramel, toffee, somewhat hoppy (variety I just can’t get into). Medium bodied, moderate to high bitterness. OK. jjpm74 (2533), Connecticut, USA Apr 8, 2008 Pours reddish copper with a thin tan head. Smells of rich creamy malt, some spice. Tastes mildly bitter with a nice compliment of sweet malt and touches of earthiness on the finish. rkuhnel (904), Eureka, California, USA Mar 24, 2008 From a 22 oz bottle this poured a ruby red color with a moderate tan head and good lacing. Nice nose of caramel malts, grassy hops, and fruit. Rich mouthfeel and high carbonation. Flavor of fruits and a bitter finish. riversideAK (1323), Shoreline, Washington, USA Mar 16, 2008 Dark amber. Almost a gusher. Huge carbonation, gigantic head. Aroma is toasty, but not in a good way. Some earthy organic hops too. Light toast, not sweet, lmild earthy bitterness. Too carbonated, seemingly thin, and unpleasant flavors that did not mesh well at all in my opinion. Maybe I got a bad bottle.
