COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Harkening back to old world brewing styles, Roscoe’s Hop House uses the highest quality malts and hops to bring forth this smooth, bright-flavored Amber Ale. With a nod to the past, this nicely balanced, true ale is brewed using traditional brewing methods for a unique flavor profile. The password to our best kept secret is found inside the bottle.

Appearance: Copper and orange under a pithy bubbly head which fades into a collar with a small puddle hovering in the middle. Swirls average.
Nose: Generic wheat breads with faint generic sweetness in the middle. Peach pulp and applesauce. Dampness.
Palate: Chewy medium-light weight and mouthfeel. Damp generic chewy wheat breads – slightly sweet. Peach fuzz and peach pulp and apricots. Powdered sugar sweetness on top the tongue. Foamy. Applesauce and white bread and powdered sugar sweetness.
Final Thoughts: Meh. There are far better amber ales out there to drink. Period. Whether new to craft beer and looking to get your tastebuds wet or a veteran of the craft beer world, skip Roscoe’s and move on to something else better, Bells Amber maybe…and a slew of others.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is sweet with a hint of bitterness, of malt, honey, and citrus hops. Taste is sweet and crisp, of malt, candied citrus, hops, and lots of honey. Lingering light sweetness. Not bad.

Bottle… Clear light amber ale with a small, lightly tanned head. Restrained aroma of cereal grains and caramel. Light to medium-bodied and thin with easygoing carbonation. Overly-sweet, nearly nondescript flavor - although it does hint at caramel, toffee and apple. Short, sweet finish.

The pour is a medium amber with lively carbonation and not much head. The aroma reminds me of adjuncts with a buttery grain note. The body is thin to medium. The taste also has a grainy character with a hint of honey. Nothing extraordinary here.

Fratto (2590) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Sixer from Tom Thumb. Light orange pour with a white head. Aroma is metallic and grainy. Taste is burned caramel, overdone toast, and grain. Metallic finish.

Dogbrick (7666) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Clear pale copper color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of stale grain and a bit of skunk. Light-bodied with a rotten fruit character and notes of grainy malt and astringent hops. The finish is short and leaves an off fruit and malt aftertaste. Another poorly executed Roscoe’s beer.
