New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($2): Pours a hazy golden color with a rather long-lasting, but small white head. Aroma is yeast and honey. Taste and body are both very light. There is a good amount of sweetness. I almost feel like I can taste the alcohol, which is very strange for a 5.5% abv beer. Not that great, but not horrible.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours slightly hazy golden with a lasting, white head. Fruity aroma with some floral notes and yeast, malt, spices and hints of citrus. Lightly sweet, yeasty and fruity with a lightly citrusy, spicy and bitter finish. Pretty light body, but quite refreshing and enjoyable.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 Nice, fresh aroma. Golden opaque color, with an elegant but not very persistent head. Not very powerful palate but a delicious taste with perfectly balanced notes of honey, fruits and malt

Pours a nice cloudy honey colour with lots of fizzy white head. Interesting aromas and flavours that include a nice spice..yeasty malts and some sweetness. Medium bodied. Not too shabby.

330ml bottle. Hazy, pale straw, white head. Spicy, malty aroma, yeast phenols, citrus, hops. Dry, light bodied, medium bitterness, lively CO2. Yeasty, spicy taste, malt, citrus peel, hops, slightly phenolic. A little unbalanced, but quite refreshing. (2012-07-20)

Bottled sample. Pale gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of raw pie dough, cooked apples, and savory herbs. Lots of fruity Belgian yeast character in the mouth, along with some pilsner malt and a sharp metallic note on the finish. Light bodied. Mediocre at best.

Bierpapst (22) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - AUG 4, 2012
Bottle - brought by a friend from Spain. The retro front label looked interesting, the ingredient list mentions sugar and honey - not spices. But the beer - poured hazy with a nice, white but not very stable head - sure had some spicy aroma, hints of lemon zest, also ripe yellow apples. Refreshing with medium body - but some flaws in the taste: leather-like, maybe also some cooked vegetable hidden under the bitterness that dominates the aftertaste. All in all a surprisingly interesting discovery.
