Roskilde Barley Wine 2007

Bottled. Cloudy dark brown, minimal head. Aroma of coffee and citrus. Sweet, dense and intense with full body and a sbut of syrp. Potent flavour of coffee and licorice, some caramel and citrus lurks behind. Long bitter finish with some wood. Quality all the way.

0.33 l bottle. Opaque dark brown color with small head. Sweet, vinous, worty and berryish aroma with rye, vanilla and raisins. Bittersweet, chocolatey, nutty and vinous flavor with notes of rye, mentholy hops and red wine. Pleasant and balaced. More dark malt character than typically in barley wines, blends nicely and makes this stand out.

[Bottle 330 of 490] Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, resin, moderate alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (120508)

330ml bottle from the beer shop Barley Wine, Copenhagen. Pours a almost black coloured body under a bubbly ring around the rim of the glass. Spicy to the nose with hints of dark fruits. Prunes and sweet, dark malts in flavour giving the beer a rather winey palate. Dry hopped endnotes. Heavy drinking (shared with Arild and Finn Arvid, 02.06.2008).

This beer is complex. Lots of malt (roastet), hops. Great notes of berries and coffee. Some Liqourice in the after taste. Still a young beer, and i look forward to taste it in some years.
