Süß malziger Antrunk mit ansprechender Intensität. Etwas cremig, der Alkohol ist deutlich erkennbar. Minimal rauchig im Abgang, außerdem hefig. Harmonisch, nicht zu stark. Sehr leicht kratzig. /12/12/12//12

Draught@EBF2008 (found in backlog among the EBF2008 ratings, I didn’t go to Århus, so must have been available at EBF as well?). Ambery brown colour with mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some burnt sugary notes as well as chocolate and some mild notes of alcohol as well. Flavour is quite stinging sweet burnt sugary, sweet malty as well as alcoholic.

Draught at Aarhus Beer Festival -08. Brown colour with beige head. Sweet, sugary, malty aroma with menthol and chocolate. Flavour is sweet and malty with molasses and chocolate and a bit of almond but way too fiery and probably too young.

Defreni (2463) - Husum, DENMARK - MAY 3, 2009
Flaske: Engelsk stil barleywine.

EBF 2008. Cherries, oak, cinnamon, burnt raisins, brown sugar, port, rum in the nose. Wonderful stuff. Mouth is equally enticing with similar flavors. Great oaky, cherry finished that I loved.

Bottle at HGJF. Dark amber with a beige head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, fruity, coconut), light hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, light bitter, not in balance. Strong in alcohol.

50cl bottle @ Svinets Verden, Odense: Pours dark brown with a creamy head. Nose is sweet of oak, sugar, caramel & roast. Taste has lots of oak/vanilla, caramel, sugar, dark fruits & vague alcohol. Smooth & full bodied. Very nice!

Skinnyviking (6746) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 25, 2008
Bottle. Highh creamy and lasting light brown body. Cery dark brown allmost black body. Alcohol dominated aroma of roasted malt with caramel. Vineous. Choccolate is the first impression of the flavor, mild though, as the vineous note quickly takes over. Alcohol not so dominant in the flavor. Fair amount of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long aftertaste. Quite complex.

Tap at EBF Copenhagen 2008 ... Deep dark brown ... breasy yeasty nose ... big yeasty fruit ... little marzipan ... nice rich and fruity.
