COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A mild dark lager with a distinct character, and closely resembles the lager handcrafted by the German brewmeisters at the original Roslyn Brewery one hundred years ago. We use our own recipe of Roslyn water, fresh from the Cascade Mountains, four types of malted barley and three hop varieties to produce this smooth lager.

Deep brown beer, no head. Aroma is farily clean. Sweet toast and toffee. Caramelly and well decocted. Flavour is okay, a bit plasticy, but otherwise nicely sweet and toasty.

Bottle shared by puzzl. Pours a deep rusty copper color with a wisp light tan head. The aroma showcases some soft toasted chocolate, as well as a sweet spiciness-clove perhaps. Thin body, but the flavor has decent malt character offering some dark caramel and brad crust. Mild bitterness, a bit attenuated overall, but no severe flaws.

Bottle from someone I forget who. Smells a lot like a pumpkin beer, or just pumpkin pie spice, kind of odd, but not too bad. Sweet a chewy flavor, easily drinkable, cookie, veggies, perhaps a bit flawed, but fairly nice.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a malty caramel aroma with some weak hints of hops. Sweetish slightly roasted malty caramel flavor with some bready hints. Also some hoppy hints. Sweetish malty caramel finish.

Draft at Taphouse grilld. Brownish auburn color. Thin head. Aroma of roasted malt with light sweetness and earthy hops. Enjoyably flavorful. Initial sweet dark malt followed by some roast, perhaps a little smoke, and a great herbal hoppiness that I really liked. Finishes very clean, but does have a pronounced hoppiness. I feel that this one might be a tad under rated.

(Draught) Sampled at the Dog & Pony in Renton, WA, on October 19, 2007. White foamy dissipated head with a brown body. Nose of vanilla, roasted malt. Very sour and somewhat milky. Something wrong here?

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2007 Poured a brown gritty body with a decent medium-sized top of off-white color. Thin mouth feel coincides with a mild grainy sweet malted nose. Finished smooth. Great sessionable dark lager.

Bottle - 22oz. Flat. No carbonation. No head. That being said; the malt is rich and smooth. Light sweetness with a cereal grain essense. A little nutty and earthy. Wish I got one that had a little CO2 left on the bottle. Liked the bottle art!

Dark brown, light tan head. Aroma is lightly roasty, caramel, light chocolate. Taste is lightly smokey, light chocolate, some roastiness. Nice body.
