COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A mild dark lager with a distinct character, and closely resembles the lager handcrafted by the German brewmeisters at the original Roslyn Brewery one hundred years ago. We use our own recipe of Roslyn water, fresh from the Cascade Mountains, four types of malted barley and three hop varieties to produce this smooth lager.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a malty caramel aroma with some weak hints of hops. Sweetish slightly roasted malty caramel flavor with some bready hints. Also some hoppy hints. Sweetish malty caramel finish.

Cloudy dark amber-brown appearance. Light crystal malt aroma with some fruitiness. Fairly light flavour profile - maybe some cocoa accents. Mild, sweetish finish. Despite its lightness, it’s a fairly successful beer due to smooth palate and rounded flavours.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a decent beige/tan head. Rich roast malt aromas - rather dark malt. Medium body with watery/frothy carbonation. Flavoer is smooth dark toasted malt. Not at all sweet or sticky. Very smooth. Seems mild.

Deep brown beer, no head. Aroma is farily clean. Sweet toast and toffee. Caramelly and well decocted. Flavour is okay, a bit plasticy, but otherwise nicely sweet and toasty.

Bottle:   Deep ruby, heavy on the brown hues, moderate to large foamy sandy head, nice lacing.   Soft roasted malts and whole wheat bread on the nose.   Soft ash and roasted malts up front, but they die rather quickly.   Beer seems a little lighter/thinner than I remember it being.   Its clean, but not terribly robust.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, but leaning towards the thin side.   Yeah, finishes clean and fairly smooth, but just lacks some more depth and body.   Not bad tho.

22. Pours deep grainy brown, opaque, with a thick, sudsy tan head and some impressive sheets of lace for the style. Nutty, cola-like nose. Soft clean body, light fizzy carb, nuts and caramel and cola notes coming through straightaway. Lovely stuff. I’ve always so enjoyed this beer--especially on draft--but even in the bottle it doesn’t disappoint.

Draft at Taphouse grilld. Brownish auburn color. Thin head. Aroma of roasted malt with light sweetness and earthy hops. Enjoyably flavorful. Initial sweet dark malt followed by some roast, perhaps a little smoke, and a great herbal hoppiness that I really liked. Finishes very clean, but does have a pronounced hoppiness. I feel that this one might be a tad under rated.

Bottle: Dark brown color, tan head, some lacing. Nose of light chalky roast with some tart fruit. The flavor is mellow in richness, almost like a dunkel with no body. I’ve had better. Thanks Josh!
