pivo (2571) - GERMANY - MAR 22, 2005
Drainpipe-like nose mixed with grassy herbs and pear. Hazy pale yellow color and tall fluffy head. Light creamy malt with citrus flavors(pineapple) and yeast. Nice unfiltered body. Dainty, dull hop bitter - could use more hops. Thinish, but refreshing. Good Landbier (though it’s more like a Kellerbier).

rauchbier (3616) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAR 13, 2005
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2007 Tap, at the brewpub July 2005. Gold with a faint haze, moderate white head and low condition. Gentle peppery hop aromas, soft malt, sweet yeast and balancing hop flavours and a lingering hop bitterness in the finish.

bierkoning (10379) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAY 30, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 3, 2005 On tap in the brewpub... Light blonde and cloudy, like a witbier. Pear and pineapple aroma. Hoppy flavor with just a bit of vanilla but refreshing as a weizen. Extraordinary beer, well made. Wish I had taken some bottles with me. Bottle: Blonde and cloudy. Soft hoppy, flowery aroma. Very hoppy, but not too bitter flavor. Lychee and the slightest hint of citrus. Vanilla. Longish hopbitter aftertaste. Exactly the same rating as the tap version.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2006 Bottled Grain, straw and fruit aroma, topped off by a good dose of bitter hops. Hazy straw color with light carbonation a lowish head with lace. Grain, yeasty citrus and a dry bitter finish. Light body slightly fizzy mouthfeel. Bitter herbal aftertaste. Quite nice - I would love to try it on tap in the brewpub.
