4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at the brewpub in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Pours a dark non see through black-brown color with a solid foamy beige head. Aroma is chestnuts, roasted caramel, malt and some hops in the end. Taste is first light smoke, followed by roasted coffee & then malty sweetness. Palate has a mellow creamy mouth feel. This is a very complex and tasty beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the brewpub. A real bruiser of a bock beer, rich, fruity and complex. Notes of currant, toffee and cocoa in the malty nose. Sweetish taste but well balanced with a decent enough bitterness. Too rich to be sessionable but the ladies couldn’t put the stuff down. Could be nice with dessert.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at the brewpub. 7.6%. Almost black coloured with creamy light brown head. Very roasty with notes of coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate. Strong flavour with a lingering dry, bitter and roasty aftertaste. Very complex and tasty. It tastes more like a powerful Baltic Porter than a Doppelbock.

Sampled draught at the brewpub
Aroma is full and fruity. Color is nearly to black, head is creamy with ocher color.. Taste is full, sweet, extrem fruity and has decent alcohol notes. Reminds me on a fruity doppelbock. Quite bitter with long aftertaste.
