Malziges Aroma. Geschmack auch, mit anständiger Bittere im Abgang, die aber nicht lange nachhängt. Vielleicht zu bitter für ein Märzen, aber nicht für ein Export.

Aroma: malty. Appearance: golden color, poor head. Taste: typical marzen with some strange pharmateutical aftertaste. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation. Overall: Poor marzen.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig würzig, Geschmack angenehm malzig würzig mit ganz minimaler Bitterkeit.

kerenmk (2526) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 18, 2014
Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Yoav. Clear gold with white head. Deep grainy aroma with faint cardboard. Sweet, a little papery taste. Long, sweet aftertaste, medium body, smooth, hardly any carbonation. Not amazing.

Shiny golden sunshine yellow. Not much head. Very little aroma. Tastes beery, then bitter, then grainy. Watery mouthfeel.

Pours clear, medium yellow. Small white head with small bubbles. Strong hay aroma. Yeasty flavor with a floral and bready finish. A bit sticky.

bartlebier (1883) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - JAN 9, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2014 33cl, once in a while over 2012 and 2013 in sheer desperation over the lack of choice at Edeka and Rewe. - The sweet boiled vegetable version of their already sweetish but decent Tannenzäpfle Pils, aiming for Märzen and landing in the honeyed mud (not: mudhoney) trough.

GoufCustom (859) - HONG KONG - DEC 30, 2013

330 ml bottle bought at foodGARDEN in D2 Place, Lai Chi Kok.

Clear golden honey colour; Near zero head with residual white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Small sticky lacing and very slight carbonation; Slightly pungent aroma of lager malt, with light honey, biscuits, lemon and light grass; Light sweet taste of thin malt, with light molasses, hint of wet cardboard, soggy bread, light liquorices, lemon, and light grass; Light body, close to watery palate; Mouth feel is like a macro Pale without adjuncts - watery body, very thin malt, minimal sweetness, light breadyness and not much else - pretty vacant really; Hoppiness is light lemon and grass in nose and taste, plus light liquorices for a notable but very low-blow and abrupt bitter finish; Wet after taste, very easy to mouth.

Comments: If this meant to be a macro Pale Lager than this is a success: thin and well attenuated, no adjunct, light and easy. As a Maerzen, this is an abject failure. Terms such as strong, rich, tasty, fulfilling, etc. do not apply onto this beer. Try it only if you want a good Pale Lager; A Maerzen? No!

Xenomorph (57) - Sundgau, FRANCE - DEC 22, 2013
