3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 33cl. Typical High fermentation yeast, a little bit similar to trappist yeast taste, highly carbonated, white very stable foam, quite complex in taste, good soft water used for the brew. I like this Hefeweizen.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
The bottle looks not too bad. The beer in the glass also. But it tastes terrible. Much too dry for a hefeweizen, it should be much more fruity. Not a good beer.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled 33cl. It pours a beautiful hazy orange beer with a big foamy white head. The nose is of nasturcium, dominating banana and a hint of cloves. Slightly milky. Some peanuts and marzipan too - A very interesting aroma. The taste is soapy. Some vinegar-like elements. Cloying. Rahter yeasty and very dry. Grainy. The finish is dry and yeasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark yellow colored, big yellow head. Nice fruits, still surprisingly hopped bitter aroma. Mild banana also there. Medium bodied. Flavor is even better with strong banana and spices, yeast also with good weizen character and mild caramel. Complex brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy light light golden color with a tall white head. Fairly mild aromas of bananas, wheat and just a hint of citrus. Flavors sweet and malty with just hints of bananas and yeast. Light acidity in the finish keeps this crisp and quenching.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2007 Bottle, from Riepen, Harrislee. Pours a quite hazy and very deep yellow. Head is medium and quite frothy. Aroma has a good fruity banana note with some slight apples and strawberries. Quite low carbonated, giving it a frothy mouthfeel. Flavour is a little tart, very spicy and a good dose of citric bitterness at the end. This is a case of rather bitter and sour hefe, more than a sweet one. That is not to say it is bad - very fresh.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Estery and sweet candy aroma, with a little banana, but mostly ripe or overripe strawberry. Quite orange and cloudy with a nice white cover that survives for quite a while. The flavour is a nice blend of clove and bubblegum and maybe banana that blend well, making not one of them really obvious. Sort of a nice bitter corriander rounds off the flavour nicely as well; a bit more bitter than most of this style, but it works. Medium body, high carbonation, clean finish.

You can’t see your hand through the glass! Nice fluffy head. Citrusy, tangy flavor - I prefer my Hefeweizens to have more of a banana taste.
