Cask (handpump) at the Market Porter, Southwark, April 2008. Attractive bright amber colour and in good condition. A well balanced and tasty traditional style bitter with plenty of earthy hops and dry pale malt. Touch of sulphur in the aroma.

Cask at the Three Mariners, Hythe. Amber with a thin white head; orangy fruit aroma; oily texture with orange fruit and some biscuit; light marmalade bitterness to finish. Pleasant enough.

Cask at the Eastbourne Beer Festival, 11th Oct 2008. Aroma of meringue! Decent balance, malt at the start and then a drying finish. Standard session weight. Ok to have as your local session bitter but not challenging or surprising.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Kent Beer Festival. Boring bitter looks. Sour apples and an odd minty note to the aroma. Tea and hoppage in the flavour with a decent bitter tobacco finish to pull it back from the brink of obscurity.
