Brutal hops is a cruel battle where the hops are the winners. Eucaliptus resin and cannabis in the nose with a brutal bitterness. With 100% german malts and a mix of english hops.

I am writing this after having tasted this beer many times. Dark brown, with a very creamy head that goes fast though, that’s fine. On the nose hops dominate all you can imagine. This undoubtedly has to do with cannabis, maybe some eucalyptus, and a little lemon. Nevertheless, I can see the barley and cereals. This is wonderful. Finally a good beer that does not have that sticky sweetness of microbrews. I repeat, a great Chilean.

Sampled from a bottle from Beers of Europe. brown colour with a slight cream-coloured head. Unusual colour for an IPA. Nose is grassy and herbal with a strong caramel flavour. The taste is sweet and toffee-ish with some interesting medium-soft hop flavours - grass, eucalyptus and hemp. Interesting in an amber ale kind of way.

My first Chilean beer... And not a great start. Everything I don’t like about American IPA (toffee, dark malts, heavy, boozy) but none of the good stuff (ie the bitterness and hop profile).

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel, smoke, resin. Taste is caramel, dark fruits, malt, medium to low bitterness. Not a typical IPA.

Bottle. Brownish coloured beer with a strong head. The aroma is hopped with good maltiness, and the flavour is very bitter with plenty of rich malty roastedness. Overall a nice strong IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy deep amber - brown beer!! Residual pale tan head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has modest fine carbonation. The malts bring dark toffee and a trace of cream. Mild tang. Ripe fruits, touch of prune. Smooth finish. A rich and tasty number but it’s not very pale and not very hoppy!

350ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown colour with a minimal tan head. Aroma is a bit funky, dusty, caramel and dark malt, some hops. Taste is also quite malty but the hops come through giving it a very bitter finish, with pine, herbs, alcohol too. Medium bodied, soft carbonation makes it seem a little flat though. Interesting one, nice but not what I was expecting for an IPA.

Pours a slightly hazy copper with golden hues and a creamy lasting off white head. Aroma is funky with some fruity esthers. Flavor is a slight of funk with birthday cake and some sweet malt. Medium palate. Odd but nice to drink more of an English strong ale than an IPA

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne
Hazy dark amber color, small compact head. Caramelly brew, a bit dusty, solid, but the hops are not expressive, maybe too old.

courtesy of Rabei - clear reddish-amber beer with a modest head retention; light chewy hoppy fruity nose (strawberries), light resiney; full-bodied, moderate carbonation; very bitter and light sticky; long fizzy hoppy finish of red fruits and herbs
