A very dark brown pour with a khaki head. Strong vanilla aroma, nice roasted malt, cocoa, and dark chocolate. Unfortunately, a bit watery. Good sweetness to the flavor. Some roasted malt, caramel, and plenty of vanilla. Chocolate flavor and a light cocoa bitterness. Still a bit watery in terms of the flavor, though it improves as it warms.

On tap at the brewery in late June. Pours with an opaque hued deep brown body with amber highlights and a small tan head. Aromas are of coffee, leather, lactose, low roast, lightly ashy, toasted caramel and vanilla. Flavors are of rootbeer, leather, milk sugar, roast, musty. Cola and vanilla. Medium bubbles, dry finish, medium bodied (could actually use more, which is the opposite of some of their other beers).

On tap @ Toronado: Poured a jet black liquid topped with a thin layer of beige head in a 13 oz. snifter glass. Aroma is bold with a dark roast malts and vanilla but my nose finds the atmosphere to dampening to be able to pick up any scents of Belgian yeast. However, the drink delivers the promised Belgian flavors despite how minor they may be. Definitely can taste the rich roasted malts that give off a taste of sweet dark chocolate that go on to dominate this hybrid Belgian stout. In the finish, a noticeable alcohol burn becomes apparent. Not balanced right in my opinion and has intense carbonation bubbles.

On tap. Black with a thin tan head. Sweet vanilla perfume aroma. Sweet vanilla and milk chocolate taste with a light roasty earthy bitterness to the finish. There’s a hint of Belgian yeast fruitiness hiding in the taste. Light to medium bodied palate.
