3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The $7.99 bomber pours with a clear ruby red to amber body supporting a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet notes of prunes, raisins, molasses and sweet malts as well as severely blunted pine hops. The taste begins sweet with brown sugar dredged plums and then it quickly moves into pine hop bitterness. To midway and into the finish the estery sweetness surges forward and picks up some blueberry notes to go with the prune and raisin fruitiness. Cool brew.

9th September 2013
Hazy dark amber beer with a small pale cream coloued head. Palate is smooth, turning minerally crisp. Nice malt, fairly rich and creamy with a little toffee. Pleasant hops - mellow marmalade and a little noble hop like spice. Fairly neutral finish. Joins up well. Very drinkable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light scarlet pour with a hint of garnet, ruby, and amethyst. Small ivory wisp. And that’s where the intrigue ends. Extremely malty, indistinguishable caramel and honey. The alcohol is noticeable and only mildly distracting. Nothing eye-opening, interesting, or world-class.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Fred is the man! Pours deep copper with a slight, but lacing, beige head. I don’t know whether this smells like KFC or beer. Ok, it’s beer, but the aroma is huge. Huge what I’m not sure, but it really appeals. Full bodied. Or better. Flavor is suggestive of KFC. I’m not messing around here. This stuff is really grabbing my mouth. So there’s a lot of malt, and a lot of hop. And some spice. It’s like barleywine infused with tobacco? Or leather? It finishes brown sugary, but there’s so much going on that it is dryish with lots of bitter. What did these guys do here?
