Solid if not a little challenging. Tart, slightly bitter with a citrusy finish. Improves the more of it you drink- go figure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of 48FaninCali. Cheers, Austin! Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Nose is some caramel with a huge tropical fruit and somewhat piney bite. Flavor is a wonderfully off-balance hop bite, tropical fruit, pine, and bits of citrus. Medium in body and lingering galaxy bitterness in the finish.

On tap. Clear golden pour with a white slick of foam. Aroma is light pine and bitterness and quite underwhelming for a IIPA. Taste is pine with bitterness and heavier sweet malt. Coating mouthfeel. Subpar IIPA.

Hazy copper and light amber coloured body with a thinnish, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pungent grapefruity and resinous hops with a strong malt vibe and a decent amount of alcohol and sweetness. Full-bodied; Strong resinous and floral hop flavour at first with a lot of grainy malt, some light sweetness, a bit of a herbal kick and some definite alcohol at the end. Aftertaste shows a good balance of malt and hops with a strong resinous and herbal finish - nice. Overall, a strong beer that shows a good balance, but not enough complexity to make it a great imperial ipa - plus the large format (I know, it’s the West Coast) bottle isn’t helping. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Texas Liqour in Carlsbad, California on 19-March-2013 for US$7.99 sampled at home in Washington on 04-June-2013 two days before leaving back for Southern California.

Tap at pig and pickle in Scottsdale AZ. Pours clear light orange. Thick buttermilk foam. Sheety lace. Nose is rich mango and dark west coast hops, butterscotch, grapefruit, candied lemon. Taste is denser, some butterscotch balance. Fresh hop bomb all around. No astringency. Very little nuttiness and no dusty mouthfeel. Mild alcohol heat.

On tap at Pressbox. Pours a clear amber color with medium white head. Malt, pine and hops on the nose. Flavor follows with bitterness > sweet. Hoppy finish. Decent.

On tap. Hazy orange-amber with a lasting covering of creamy roam. Aroma is pineapple, toffee, resin, evergreen and dank herb. Tastes of a great blend of the same. Medium body is well balanced, has low-average carbonation and is dangerously sessionable with no hint of the abv.

Very disappointing for a double ipa out of San Diego. Even at 94 ibu’s the malts are overwhelming. Like somebody said before me, very "pedestrian"
