2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Courtesy my Secret Santa. Thank you, sir. Meh. I was expecting a lot more from a beer calling itself a hop bomb from the west coast. Aroma was OK. Piney hops and and sticky malt. Pour was a nice burnt orange with a one finger off white head. Taste was sticky and green with the pine and grapefruit hops very muted and muddled with a weird flat ginger ale flavor. Hard to explain. Nice carbonation. Definitely drinkable but there’s a lot better out there.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Rough Draft. It pours a clear orange color with an off white head. The aroma has some spicy hops, earthy with some green onion and fruit. The flavor is nice with spicy onion, fruity grape, light marshmallow sweetness before it dries out in the finish. Respectable.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours cloudy amber in cervoise glass. Head is decent. Ok lacing. Aroma of trop fruit, flowers and fresh berries. Taste is same with nicely balanced sweet buttered bready malts. A little alcohol heat in finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a 650ml bottle on 13/4/2015. Pours a cloudy golden with a medium head. The nose features some light fruity hops (mandarin) but is quite restrained for a DIPA. The flavour is dominated by sweet citrus fruit (orange), and some very light booze, followed by a firm, slightly chemical bitterness, which is missing the typical grapefruit/resin typically found in US IPAs.Fullish body with the palate a touch creamy, with average carbonation. Not without its charms but certainly a long way from being a top end DIPA.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Explosively airy without respite. A big pile of sudsy foam stands tall. The beer drinks with a big, chewy, caramel malt front door. The hoppy back door is earthen, reminiscent of furniture polish. A bit rough, pardon the pun. (#5934, 2/27/2015)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
July 10th, 2013 - The next beer on the sampler line-up from Rough Draft is a quick acceleration up to an imperial ale - Rough Draft’s Hop Therapy IIPA. It’s a dark, golden beer with a heavy haze, but it shines in the light with a sunny yellow yolk, unencumbered by much of a head or foam on the glass. The bouquet is just that, a collection of flowers, glazed with the scent of simple syrup and an accent of grapefruit bitterness. The flavor is oddly more savory, like french fries or other fried foods, but bittered with more of the flavor found in the grapefruit and the hops. It’s an interesting taste, and well worth a few sips, but a full pint would be a bit too much to handle.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the Aces & Ales Winter Beer Fest on 01/17/2015. The beer is a slightly cloudy amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, piney hops and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of citrusy hops, pine and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a resiny hops aftertaste. Above average overall.
