Bottle from SBL: Bold scent of hops perhaps Nelson meeting Simcoe and few others joined as well to complete a full bodied poly-hopped IPA aroma. Liquid glistened a consistent solid shiny brass color while a soapy foam of head formed on top. The drink is well balanced with an upfront profile of hops while a supporting background of flavorful malt that really knocks pleased my craft beer quench. Palate is a biting bitter of hops but has a biscuit aftertaste but pretty good beer for the price of $5. I felt it was fair.

I didn’t have expectations going into this, but it blew me away. It poured a nice, white, pillow of foam that stuck around for a while. I get a lot of bready characteristics on the nose, that follow through to the initial taste in a big way. That was quickly replaced by accents of tropical fruit, lychee, and pine from the heavy handed hops. The finish lingered for a long time, showcasing a resinous palate and high alpha acid content.

Growler (from Whole Foods Chandler, AZ) opened and poured with a bouquet of aromatic citrus that billowed out of the growler and glass. It has a clear deep copper body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma erupts with grapefruit and tangerine notes backed up by just noticeable sweet maltiness. Towards the end of the draw a bit of mango tropical fruit is noticed. The taste begins with a firm degree of citrus hop bitterness that tries hard to stay ahead of the lightly malt sweetened citrus hop flavor. It goes back and forth between grapefruit, orange, clementine and tangerine and then ending with a sweet sliver of mango that tries to edge in amongst the largely bitter citrus hops. Darn nice IPA. Wow.

Aroma of hops and tropical fruits. Taste is the same. Yummy! Nicely balanced. I did like their session IPA just a little more but this one was amazing too. Will be trying more by them!

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours clear light copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma is perfumey floral. Maybe a touch of melon. Med body or better. Flavor is very floral, with some burning hop. Citrus and melon. Must be other things, but it’s all rather mixed. Hop burn moderates, flavors smooth out. Light toasty malt backbone is apparent. It’s a wonderfully made ale.

650 ml bottle. Pours a translucent copper color with a small white head that has fair retention. The aroma is big and bold with oranges, grapefruit and something salty. The taste is oranges, melons, grapefruit and persimmons set nicely in a bready malt base. The palate is light but effective and the carbonation is soft. Finishes long and bitter. Overall: By far and away the best beer I’ve had from these folks, but I thought that the bitterness was just a tad harsh around the edges. Paired nicely with corn chips.

650ml brown bottle. Medium god in colour, clear. Well formed white and creamy cap. Nose has pine, citrus and tropical fruit backing. Taste has piney hop and resiny notes up front, tropical fruity middle. Citrus and pine finish, medium hoppiness and long hoppy aftertaste. Good mix of hops, enjoyable.

A little rougher and a little more serious. Ready to play with the big boys. Lasting foam on dark amber. Strong complex hop scent; mix of eucalyptus, cedar and spruce. Touch of medicinal eucalyptus in the taste. Solid malt and a bit of hop spiciness. A bit of spruce tips.
