12th round strong ale is inspired by old-school American brawn. This beer is an exercise in simplicity, resulting in something powerful and complex. Toasty malt throws the first punch, followed by a barrage of Apollo hops, and the 7.6% abv delivers the knockout blow.

Pours a medium brown with some amber highlights. Moderate off-white head with good retention and lacing. Nice malty aroma with some citrus hop notes. Very nice complex flavor with layers of caramel, roast malt and citrus. Medium-full bodied and moderately carbonated. Really hides the alcohol well and very easy-drinking. Very nice effort from this new brewery.

This one poured a light brown or amber color with a white head. Aroma was of herbal and bitter hops and caramel. Flavor was the same, light toast, caramel and bitting hops. Meh.

Can, from trade with Scoonerchamps. Ok aroma, malty, like. Wet leather blanket, earthy dark orangey brown color, good head and lace. Sweet salty flavor. Thicker body, thin creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. This one is a head scratcher for me. I don’t like the aroma, flavor is better, though not appealing overall. Leaves me wondering what they were going for.....

From the pint can into a tulip style glass: amber brown color with a bit of suspension and about a half inch of tan, tight foam, fairly well-sustained. It smells of molasses, bourbon, pine and a bit of earthy depth. The flavor seems predominantly sweet caramel with roasty bitterness and a nice piney hop presence. Pretty tasty, it finishes with just a touch of sourness. The carb is adequate. I can’t help feeling this is a lovely counterpart to another local brewer’s Native Amber. It’s great to have quality Okie beer.

Pours a deep burnt sienna color with a thick finger or two of eggshell foam. The nose is inviting with some layered deep roasted malt, whiffs of citrus, burnt sugar, vanilla and earthy leather. The palate is round and flavorful, big toasted malt backbone with some nice nutty vanilla sweetness thats well balanced. The lingering bitterness keeps the sweetness in check and there is a glimpse of citrusy hop notes that ebbs and flows throughout the duration of the beer. Pretty nice offering ! Thanks lumpsowers for the can !

Tall boy can served in a Prairie teku A - Pours a clear chestnut brown with a solid off-white head. Average retention and lacing. S - Toasted barley, clean citrus hops, nut bread, caramel, earthy. T - Follows the nose with toasted barley, toffee sweetness surrounded by earthy tannins, peppery hops add firm but rounded bitterness, English yeast profile, nutty and bready, citrusy hops really starts coming off once warmed. Finishes nice and very dry with pecan like bitter tannins. M - Lush body with great carbonation, firm but sloshy. Dry tannin-bitter finish. It’s a hybrid English/American strong ale. Strong toffee/barley flavor, toasted with a rounded earth/tannin character. The citrus hops are semi spicy and paired with the firm lushy body makes for a nice drinking beer. This surprised me.
