jeffwilliams11 (275), hooterville, Michigan, USA Sep 7, 2008 on tap at brewery...pours bright, clear straw color with minimal head. aroma is mildly malty, slight sulfur esters. flavor is similar, malty, yeasty, fruity as it warms up. very tasty, and one of the better kolschs i’ve had. CharlesDarwin (1412), State College, Pennsylvania, USA May 31, 2008 750mL green bottle. Noses in sulfites, white grape fruit and some small grains. Otherwise kind of dead. Pours a crystalline gold. Flavor is a gentle kolsch. Actually well preserved. A wheaty barley mingle. Lightly sweet, but backed with some sugar. Soft. Bits of fusely alcohol. Rather calm. Dries out. Not that amazing. Maybe too carbonated and too soft. Not that flavorful, but not off. Not terrible or skunky. A pretty standard, subtle example. Thanks Sean! BBB63 (3810), La Porte, Indiana, USA Mar 29, 2008 750ml corked bottle and served in a pils glass: Clean golden hue with a lasting frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of grassy noble hops, pale biscuity malts, hint of apple ester, slightly husky as well. The taste is a clean moderate bitterness and soft grains. Light acidity and some pepper throughout. The mouth feel is refreshing and sprite with a mostly clean aftertaste. A nice surprise indeed and very much spot on for the style.
