2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
bottle. Poured opaque brown with a mocha head. Sweet treacle aroma. Lighter than expected body, thin carbonation, slightly tart finish. Flavour of roasted malt, and again a sour note, some bitter chocolate.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
355ml bottle. A brown stout, low in body, light tartness, just a shitty milk stout.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
black body with red highlights, no head, slightly sour aroma / chocolate malts, flavor is overpowered by sourness - maybe this is just a really old bottle? There’s no decipherable date stamp, so who knows... I’ve got a feeling that this beer will be the cause of some gnarly gas tomorrow

Bottle. Pours a dark brown. Aroma and taste are sweet chocolate; a bit too much sweetness.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Shared 12 oz. bottle labeled with the yellow barn & red ribbon, poured to small snifters showing a black/brown color, with ruby highlighting, brownish tan head foam that reduced quickly to a ring & film, and light spots of lacing. The nose was cocoa, but also hints of Slim Jim, light soy, and a touch of cardboard. Light bodied, with fair carbonation, the flavor was more agreeable, with subtle roastiness & cocoa, mellowed by a touch of silkiness to the mouthfeel. A bit past it’s prime.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Deep brown almost black with a deep brown head. Aroma is typical of a stout but the taste as the name suggests has great chocolate flavor. Good blend with coffee flavor making almost a milkshake taste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong cocoa and chocolate. Thin mouth, light roast, strong cocoa, dark chocolate, bitter finish, very good.

Pretty good, and I would get this again. However it was really hard to pour. Nice chocolate flavors.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich deep brown coloured body with a very large tan head - about six centimetres tall, but fades relatively quickly. Aroma of rich oatmeal, chocolate, yeast, vanilla and heaps of molasses. Medium-bodied; Strong lactose and milky flavours throughout with a very rich vanilla and chocolate taste as well. Aftertaste shows some nice complexity with cocoa, roasted malt, oak and way more milk than anything else - very nice and pleasant. Overall, a nice and strong stout with a very nice body and good set of flavours that persist throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$2,39 sampled at home in Washington on 15-November-2014.
