This is a very delicious summer beer. It has an excellent taste and is extremely smooth. Refreshing on a hot and humid summer evening. A must drink beer.

Draft. Thick unfiltered yellow tan color, due to the keg being knocked around prior to tapping, clears as the day went on. Top notch beer with the thick yeast. Some clove and light flowery hops balance it out. Smooth and refined. If it was always as yeasty as it was that day, I’d certainly give it 4+.

On tap at the Bocktown, nice place. Very interesting presentation; cloudy white like a good witbier and a nifty head that goes rocky. Head has big and small bubbles. very light aroma, attractive to the olfactory. Lots of lovely bubbly tingly biting carbonation that sits well with my tongue. Taste is quite complex and enjoyable; grass, hay, somewhat tart, farmy like attitudes comming thru. Somewhat like a very light saison. A very good overall beery experience! Really friendly and easy to drink. I liked this stuff, a very good session brew which must have an alky content of less than 4%.

A growler from Whole Foods in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
pours a straw gold with a 2-finger head which settles to a coating. Lacing is light but there throughout. Nose is some hops, pale malt, lemon, and some grassiness. Taste is a nice blend of hops, some fruit, especially lemon, wheat, some breadiness and a pleasant crisp hop-tinged finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium with ample carbonation. This is a good brew for a hot, summer afternoon and definitely sessionable.

Roy Pitz Brewing does not currently have canning or bottling of there beers, so in addition to growler fills at the brewery, they have introduced some cool 1 liter swing-top bottles for sale. I gots me one!! It was filled with this Best Blond. Pours a nice cloudy yellow with an excellent large frothy white head with above average staying power and some moderate lace. Nose is lemon peel and yeasty spice. Has a decent body with a tangy and creamy mouthfeel. Get some bitter lemon peel and some subtle peppery yeast. As it warms a bit it opens to reveal some cotton candy sugar flavor at the back end just before a short sticky finish. Overall: Mellow, balanced and creamy smooth. Very sessionable Hefe.

Bottle. Very light golden color with just a tinge of orange. The head is very big, airy, white. The aroma is sweet and grassy. The beer drinks with a creamy consistency, and a very light grainy appeal. Not a bad summer sipper. (#4740, 8/22/2012)
