This German Lager is made with 9 different specialty malts including caramel/chocolate/and toasted malts to give it an authentic hearty dark amber lager taste and is than scattered with German Floral hops that balance the malty sweetness. The yeast enhances the maltiness of the brew and the extended cold conditioning time makes this bier smooth and drinkable as ever. A flavorful German lager that makes for the perfect turkey beer! Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of malt and slight lager yeast. Poured amber/slight brown in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout around the edges and as a film on top of the beer, only. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, nuts, dried leaves, toasting, slight caramel, and general Marzen/lager flavors. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, nuts, toast, slight caramel, and some dried leaves make up the finish.

Sampled at brewery. Poured a hazy brownish color with a tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, light fruit, little spice. Taste is similar, with plenty of malt sweetness. Mouth is medium bodied, with average carbonation. Not a bad beer, but nothing really exciting either.

On tap at Bocktown. WOOOOOW was this bad. I will give the brewer the benefit of the doubt and assume there was something wrong with the beer. Aroma was light malt with a hint of graininess. Pour was like milk. All creamy head with a hint of liquid. Could be the equipment but according to the guy behind the bar it wasn’t. Taste was sour. Very sour with a vegetal aftertaste. I only ordered a little sampler glass of this and couldn’t finish it. I’d like to try this from the source as this is my first rating of this brewer.
