Itís hard to imagine a member of the Dutch royal family knocking the tab off this while looking forward to an afternoon spent alone in a bus shelter in piss-stained pants, shouting at invisible passers by, but hell, I have an open mind. Golden and sparkling with a white head. Syrupy aromas that just scream danger and a full, over-sweet flavour that had me heading for the sink to pour this out. No redeemable qualities and an affront to beer that this even exists.

Aroma: Medium bready, stewed fruits, honey. Light spicy alcohol. Appearance: Clear golden body. Small, white head with large bubbles, low retention. Flavour: Rich malty, bready, toasty. Light grape. Light honey. Light Cloying sweetness. Medium-dry finish with lingering cloying sweetness and followed by astringency. No hops. Medium-high sweetness, medium bitterness, astringency, metallic Mouthfeel: Medium-full body, medium carbonation, medium astringency, . Coating, soapy aftertaste. Light warming. Overall: Very deceptive! The astringency makes it easy to gulp the next gulp. Although it is easy to drink, the beer is not to style. Check sparging to lower astringency. 500 ml can, poured. 5C. Doppelbock

0,5l can Appearance: Deep golden colour with hardly a head Aroma: corn, hay, sugar,, alcohol Taste: Sweet Sugar, melon, old bread, and then the alcohol becomes stronger in the finish upfront it could still be subdued to the back by the sweetness. . thin- body, average carbonation. Well if cold enough then probably the alcohol will remain hidden and itís ideal sollution to get drunk fast, but itís not a beer.

Can. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of grains, a bit corny, a bit of hay, sugary notes and some alcohol. Sweet flavor, grainy, sugary and alcoholic. Finishes even more alcoholic. Light to medium-bodied, a bit sticky. Unpleasant.

0.5L can. Had this lying around for a while and I suppose Iíll never get in the mood for this, so I decided to open it anyway. Clear golden pour, thin white head. Aroma has some nice fruity hints, almost as if just a tiny bit of fresh hops are backed by a decent amount of malts. Almost inviting and promising. Until I take a sip. Sickening sweet sugary water guzzles down, leaving my mouth rusty and metallic. So much for this inevitable drainpour.

It has a lovely aroma with honey, and floral notes almost like a honey ale. When is tasted a medium body is felt with a unpleasant perception of the alcoholic content at the end.

Can of 500 ml. Green can, without the word "gold" anywhere but the ABV is 8,5%, so I guess this is it. Pours a dark golden yellow coloured beer with an enormous head of almost three fingers that goes away fast, leaving almost no lacing on the glass. Smell of old bread and ony slighty of alcohol. Other than that, nothing special. Taste is sweet-ish, the high ABV is not that traceable. Medium thickness on the body and light carbonation. Overall, yeah, why not if you want to get drunk fast and cheap.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2015 50cl green can. Extra Strong, but not gold. No aroma. Golden, clear brew with minimal head. Tastes a like average cold retsina. Slightly sweet, a bit salty, and some alcohol. Light body, thin texture, soft carbonation with a rancid finish. Bought only for the cause of experiment. If you take in to account that this is lager, with a thin texture - 8.5% is very well hidden in this one. When served "Extra Cold" it is rather drinkable. But you hardly find any pleasant taste sensation to remember. Re-rate: strong malty aroma. Close to Belgian Strong Ale. Golden with thin head. More body than last time. Well textured and balanced strong lager. Again, ABV is well hidden. This was not available on the shelves for some time. A very positive comeback.
