Undrinkable. I remember seeing this on the chalkboard and ordering it with excitement. The flavors are all wrong. The taste is terrible.

Hazy amber pour with a ring of white lace on top of it. Strong aroma and flavor of black licorice. It’s good but way too simple and unidimensional.

What a way to kill a Dubbel... Way to much licorice flavour, way to sweet. tastes almost like a rancid cola. Sickly sweet aroma, not bad looking however Really bad beers, like many of the chap american macros that have NO taste are at least drinkable, because they taste like water, but this was the first beer in my life that I was unable to finish becasue it tasted that bad! UGH!!!

Tap. Poured a hazy reddish brown with a 1 finger tan head. Smells strongly of licorice. Flavor starts off with mildly sweet malts and quickly turns to an overpowering licorice flavor. Medium body. Too one dimensional. If you like black licorice then this might be a nice novelty, but otherwise it’s awful.

On tap at the Royal Oak Brew Pub (sampled provided by the Brewer - Thanks!). Poured a deep and cloudy amber with a large sized off white head. Aromas of yeast, cinnamon, and dark fruits. Tastes of spices, licorice, light yeast, raisins, plums and bananas. Very tasty.
