UnsofistaCat (204), Garden City, Michigan, USA Dec 29, 2007 Kind of thin, and too sour. Not the best porter I’ve had. The yeast didn’t seem right for the style either....a little too fruity. But what do know? Hawksfan17 (589), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 10, 2007 Pours dark brown, smells like roasted coffee. It has a roasted flavor but it is sweeter then the aroma. Smooth toffee finish that was too sweet for me. hopdog (4444), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2006 On tap at the Royal Oak Brew Pub. Poured a dark brown color with red edges and a small sized off white head. Aromas of stronger chocolate, roasted malts, and very light coffee. Tastes of stronger coffee, lighter chocolate, and roast. I was also getting a lactose quality to this one. Very nice lacing left on the glass. walleye (813), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jan 3, 2006 had this back in october from the tap poured a brown I think the light is a little dim in this place with a tan head. aroma nothing special about this beer got some malt and a weak coffee hard pressed to get anything else out of it. flavor a little better than the aroma, got the roasted malts, coffee, and some sweetness. it was an easy dinking beer. Silphium (1981), Lansing, Michigan, USA Oct 17, 2005 On tap at Royal Oak BC. Dark brown-red body, thin/medium off-white head. Roasty, toasty, bitter aroma. Surprisingly hoppy body (especially after I tried the surprisingly malty ASA) complementing the roasty, toasty malts with bitter pine and hints of grapefruit. I think I was in Amarillo land. Coffee is also prevalent. Unusual porter but a tasty one too.
