Jfishback13 (271), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA May 25, 2002 Locally this is the best Amber I know of. The beer itself is pretty tasty. I would prefer beer from elsewhere, but for a local flavor it has much more charisma than Tomboy and other local flavors. The best thing about it is is the sweet, intense flavor of it in their beer cheese soup. Inveigler (371), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Jul 19, 2002 I’ll give this beer a decent ranking because I like it; but, for you amber lovers out there, be forewarned that this is not your normal style. Far hoppier than most amber ales, I would almost classify it as a bitter. It does have a fantastic malt character. It’s dark deep red with a brown tinge. A big, heavy beer to be drank zestily during the autmumn months! redmosquito (172), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jul 2, 2005 This beer was a clear dark amber in color with a brownish head. The aroma was nicely roasted with caramel hanging out behind it. The flavor was clean malty good balancing bitterness some roasted in the finish, very true to style. The body was slightly thin. This beer was light, refreshing and totally drinkable. sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 11, 2007 On tap @ the brew pub: Pours a red color with a tan head. Aroma, caramel malts and earthy notes. Flavor, caramel, toffee, earthy hops, and spices. Pretty decent. MIBRomeo (1889), Wisconsin, USA Oct 14, 2007 Dark brown pour, thick tan head, great lace. Light aroma almsot peat w/ smoke. avg pal.
