500 ml can aka Faxe Red: Well, my first fruit beer, to review. I have never liked fruit beer, although a couple I had a few years ago were OK. Red colour with quickly fading pink head. The berry taste is pronounced: it’s a weird struggle between sweet & bitter and some other chemical taste going on there. For the medium carbonation, I am surpised it doesn’t taste more fuzzy. I think Mr. Manning hit it right with cream soda flavourings. Given Faxe Lager’s corn tasting malts, perhaps some corn syrup in here? When this became warm, I couldn’t finish it, way too sweet.

Aug 14, 2008 Can, as Faxe Red. In the glass, it’s a deep red colour, but while pouring it almost looks pink. There’s a very thin white head. Smell is faintly spicy and smells kind of like berries. Tastes like berry juice. Carbonation is pretty high. There’s no hops really to speak of, and not much in the way of malt, just a little bit of toastiness or caramel towards the end of the flavour. It really just tastes like slightly watered down berry juice. Not awful, but not too beer-like.

Apr 21, 2008 Can as Faxe red, thanks tbone_! Juice like reddish brown, slightly pinkish foamy head. Nose is light malts and juice like sweetish mixed fruits & berries. Flavor is pretty much low class danish, mineral "pils" mixed with juice. Sweet, but not overly. Slight hops in the finish. Light to medium bodied, foamy palate. Nothing offending, more like a soda. Rather this than the normal Faxe premium.

Apr 19, 2008 Bottle 33cl. Clear red body with medium off white head. Fruit and sweet malt dominates the nose. Sweet flavour and a light body i general.

Apr 11, 2008 Reddish yellow of color with a reddish white head. An aroma of fruit, sweets and bitterness. A flavor of malt, fruit notes, a mildly bitter finish.
