3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Had in Italy under the label Ceres Strong Ale. Strong corn/metallic nose. Surprising lacing that stuck on the glass like glue. There is some alcohol burn to this, but not as much as you’d expect for an ABV this high. A hearty quaff that sticks to your ribs.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours clear golden with a minimal uneven head that disappears leaving some spots. Aroma is malts, caramel and a lot of booze. Taste is sweet malts, light fruitiness, and some alcohol again. Medium body, light carbonation. Don’t like it.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle as Ceres Strong Lager. Appears clear blonde, with a fastly going white head. Not good for the palate, with some alcoholic burn.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at Biermarkt. Clear golden with a fluffy white head. Strong malt liquor grainy sweetness, booze, grassy, peppery hops, wow...gross. Medium body, moderate carbonation, a little slick. Flavor is similar, definitely malt liquor, clean; lightly sweet, gentle bitterness, pleasant sweet, grainy finish. It is what it is.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
0.5 can. Clear, yellow color and a medium, thin, white head. Aroma of yeasts, barnyard, cheap pale malts and hops. Taste is quite sweet, malty, with notes of honey - not that bad actually. Light body, texture somewhere between slick and creamy, carbonation can be counted as somewhat beyond average. Finish is short and also quite sweet but not half as good as the taste. Overall a beer which surpasses its own style though by no means a good brew in and of itself.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2015-02-11. Crisp yellow body with a nice creamy white head and lace. 3+ Aroma is mild, with lightly grainy cereal notes to the pale malt. Touch of honey like sweetness. Flavour is sweetish, lightly grainy pale malt. Surprisingly mild and quaffable for the abv while chilled, the grains and alcohol become more pronounced as it warms. Significantly to its detriment. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. On tap as "Ceres" at Town Crier, Toronto.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Copenhagen 20/1 2015. 50 cl can from Rema 1000 under the name "Dortmunder". Pours clear gold with white head. Quickly diminishing. Aroma is slightly acidic and a bit metallic. Medium carbonation. Taste is rather bitter leaving a dry feeling in the mouth. Accompagnied by a little sourness. Metallic taste of alcohol. I do not see many signs of the German inspiration claimed on the label.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
On tap at Bier Markt (Ottawa, ON). Boring blond body with a fair, lasting, white frothy head. Light, fresh, hoppy aroma with some malty and herbal hints. Its bland malty/hoppy taste carries bad alcohol and corn syrup notes. Ends with a short bittersweet finish. Light version of macro European rocketfuel.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml can as Dortmunder. Clear golden body with an off-white head. Aroma is grain, hint of malt and alcohol. Flavor is like any other strong macro lager, quite sweet, light malt/grain, slightly fruity and not much bitterness with some boozy alcohol. Actually the alcohol is not too bad with this one and it’s not totally unbalanced. No problem finishing this can, but would probably never by it again as this style is just uninteresting and boring IMO.
