Compact roasted malty aroma with some light chocolat and fruity touches. Medium to full palate. Finish is roasted malty, toffee aroma. Medium to good stout. Yves (402), Beerse, Belgium Aug 4, 2008 Black coloured beer with small off-white head and no visible carbonation. Malty roasted aroma. Full bit creamy palate. Finish is mucca like, roasted. Ole_R (1167), Oslo, Norway Jul 13, 2008 2007 bottle. Big fluffy light-brown head leaving laces. Near-black body with a mahogny glow. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, rummy and plummy with notes of dark dried fruits and chocolate. Bitter coffee-ish malt flavor. Notes of chocolate and sour fruits. Thin-bodied considering the relatively high alcohol strenght. Powdery mouthfeel. Bitter-acidic finish. Goes well down, but far from the best of its kind. DSG (835), Yuvalim, Israel Jul 11, 2008 2006 bottle (thanks a lot Dedollewaitor!). Black-colored with a small light brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, some dark fruits and alcohol hints. Flavor is rather dry but with some sweet tones with roasted malt and a bit of dark chocolate, licorice and a rather unpleasant bitter finish with some alcohol and metal. Medium-bodied. Not enough character to make a good Baltic Porter. Not too enjoyable.
