Alengrin (2939) - BELGIUM - FEB 18, 2015
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2015 Rating from old notes, tasted in 2004 as Ceres Stout (its original name). Very dark, almost black beer, oily texture, thin light beige head; weakish aroma, malty, chocolate and caramel with some iron and coffee; malty taste, pretty straightforward with somewhat thin body, bit metallic, very caramelly, dryish, coffee-like roasted bitterness in the finish. Typical and very acceptable bottom-fermented Baltic porter.

Nearly black with small beige head. Malty aroma with chocolate notes and faint hops. Flavour starts off with chocolate, then comes salty, sweet licorice. Soft, full bodied mouthfeel ending semi dry and bitter. Not bad.

djoeye (2173) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 19, 2014
Beige head, jet black body, resistant fine lacing. Aroma; bouquet of fruits, dark malts, prunes. Taste; chocolate with prunes, nut sauce, cocoa hops. Well blended and nice on palate. Abv unbelievably well hidden. Dark chocolate in finish. Oh, is it a baltic porter? That may explain how smooth and nice it felt. [33cl can 7.7%abv BB19.11.18 T@höme]

Can @ home. Dark brown with a biege head. Nose is sweet and softly roasted with aromas of coffee, chocolate, lots of caramel, some spices and honey. Thin bodied for a 7, 7% baltic porter. Sticky carbonation. Taste is a bit sweet with chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and molasses. Followed by a drier metallic taste along with red fruits, Finishes with a spicy bitterness. Quite good but mouthfeel is too thin for my taste and the aroma isnt complex enough.

Solid black with a nice creamy tan lacy lasting medium head. Smells of deep chocolate, dark berries, molasses, dark malt and raisins. Full creamy oily body. Tastes of deep roast with dark chocolate and a ashy finish. Nice malty character that is easy to drink and keeps me coming back. A bit ashy and dry.
