August 12, 2011 - draught at Dean Swift (as Dean Swift Belgian Pilsener). Clear bubbly gold with an average creamy white head. Smells like a grassy pils with light spicy/yeasty "Belgian" character. Taste is a bit sweet - honey, grassy - simple but clean. Light-bodied, mild carbonation, quick-finishing and no aftertaste. Meh - good with my meal.

Bottled, 330ml from Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent. Pale yellow gold with white head. Initially quite flabby with wet cardboard, grainy notes, but eventually a crisper, sharper beer emerged. Not great but drinkable.

Bottle. Rubbel Sexy Lager label. Pours pale gold with white head. Nose of peppercorn and spicy malt. Taste of spicy malts, peppercorn and spice. Light body. Average pilsener.

Bottle. Clear golden pour with a small foamy white head that doesn’t last very long. Aroma of corn, rice and malt. Flavour is a little better but not great, similar to aroma but with a touch of caramel and a fair bit of sweetness. Watery mouthfeel with moderate to low carbonation and a lingering sweet finish. Pretty ordinary pils overall. I think I got sucked in by the packaging.

aroma is sort of grassy, sweet flowery.
flavor is not very good, flowery, watery, caramel, strange bitterness.
palate is very watery.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a medium white head. The aroma is cereal, corn, sweet caramel and light fruit. The flavour is caramel, hay, cereal, brewmash and cardboard. yuk.

330ml bottle. Poured very light and clear with minimal foam lacing. Earty aroma of dried hay, not that unpleasant. Taste was okay but nothing to rave about. The label on the other hand is another story.

Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, bread, light hoppy, old hops, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light metalic. [20091102]
