3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Stone’s Sour Fest 2008. Red. Very clear. Low carbonation. Mild sour cherry aroma, like a severly watered down Schaerbeekse kriek. Good, but too watery.

(Draught at GABF) amber-orange in color, clear, soapy tan bubbles. Nose of tart and sweet cherries, brown sugar, light maple, smells simply awesome. Taste of cherry pie filling, lacto, Belgian yeast, honey and cranberries. Excellent duration and an excellent sour beer!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
High Mountain Cherry Ale
Sampled at GABF on 9/18/2010. This sour ale pours a light reddish gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and cherry, slightly tart and perhaps a touch funky. A medium bodied sour ale. The malts are fruity, cherry and tart. The hops are herbal. Nice carbonation. Semi-sweet cherry flavors with a fairly serious amount of tartness. Nice beer. Would really like to see how this one ages. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours with a deep, red-brown body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s pretty strange in aroma and flavor. More cherry is noticable in the nose. It’s slightly sour yet sweet with light notes of cherry and a musty, dirty bandaid note. Light bodied, crisp and dry.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
GABF 2007. Smells of sweet cherries, softly fruity with a hint of lactic sweetness. Soft warm cherries in the flavor, not bright and crisp but more fleshy, and not really tart at all. Texture reminds me of white sandwich bread in the softness of it. Mint and tobacco come out faintly and late in the finish. Pretty straightforward and uncomplicated, but not untasty.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2010 This is one of those very rare beers that combines bandaid, solvent, and robotussin flavors and ends up tasting like shit. It poured to the glass red and settled having picked up a shade of brown or two. The nose was similar to a generic brand diet cherry soda with a hint of expired robotussin. Flavors were a mix of medicinal cherry and solvent, unfortunately, this was not appealing this time. The finish was plain dirty in that it tasted like dirt. If this wasn’t all bad enough, the badness was magnified by the very low carbonation level.
