COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2008 for batch # 3,000. This is our version of a Double India Pale Ale. This year we used almost 900 lbs of English pale malt, and over 40 lbs of hops in a 10 barrel batch. A nice golden color with aromas of pine, citrus and some earthy spicy notes. This is what hop lovers dream about. Get hopped up on the sauce.!

Bottle from City Beer, February 2014. Hazy dark orange with a medium white head. Aroma and taste of hops, grapefruit, malt and some "earth". Bitter and a bit unbalanced. Not the best DIPA that I have tried.

Pours orange with white head and very little lacing. Strong and pleasant aroma...well balanced between pine and citrus. Taste is the same with some spicy notes and enough malty backbone to make it more than drinkable.

Bottle. Pours orange gold with white head. Nose and taste of pine, citrus, grapefruit peel, dank hops, resin and caramel malt. Mild perfume. Medium body.

Bomber. No date. Unsure of age.. Pours light amber, with an orange hue. One finger head, which dissipates to a thin ring, leaving spotty soapy lacing. Ripe tropical aromas of guava, mango, OJ pulp and dried florals. Palate is full, with lower carbonation. Flavors of bitter orange citrus, mango, herbs, pine and dried florals cling to the palate, on the lingering finish. A deceivingly big beer, with a big hop nuances. Best enjoyed chilled, not straight out if fridge cold. The aromas and flavors integrated and became more expressive as the beer warmed. Overall, a good IPA for hopheads.. Let it warm. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

poured from a 22 oz bottle, it is a hazy light brown color with a sweet floral/citrus aroma. The taste is more pinecone hops with a fairly bitter finish. This is a nice bitter IIPA, but doesn’t have the fruity hop flavor and aroma that I really love in an IIPA.

This was a great beer. Poured a rather dark golden color, and slightly cloudy. I was surprised by how dark it was for an IPA. Small, quickly dissipating head. Aroma was sweet, some citrus notes, with lots of hoppy resinous pine. It was very sweet, but not super malty, which I was surprised about. Hops were balanced by the sweetness. Overall I really enjoyed this one.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy dull orange with a tiny white head. Nose brings out candied notes upfront, along with rich resinous hops, a touch of pine, and a seemingly large caramel malt backing. Flavour is similar, bringing out big resinous hops, some citrus and grapefruit, and a rich caramel malt backing that leaves some residual sugars. Each successive sip reveals the sweetness more and more, in cloying territory after a while. It’s not that lopsided, but this is certainly not at all my kind of IIPA. A cloyingly sweet, syrupy, over-malted IIPA here. Not my thing.

The beer has a honey color with a medium head. On the nose there is a pine aroma that is noticed first and then some fruit zest. Taste is balanced with citrus, grass and hops. Long finish.

Good. Strong pine notes. Surprisingly resiny for the relatively low ABV. Malt base present but second fiddle. Nice not overpowering bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark, brownish-gold with small, fast dissipating head. Much citrus and floral in the aroma. Taste is fairly balanced between hop bitterness and malt sweetness. Could stand to be a bit more hoppy. Not bad at all. The rather high alcohol content is well-hidden.
