COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2008 for batch # 3,000. This is our version of a Double India Pale Ale. This year we used almost 900 lbs of English pale malt, and over 40 lbs of hops in a 10 barrel batch. A nice golden color with aromas of pine, citrus and some earthy spicy notes. This is what hop lovers dream about. Get hopped up on the sauce.!

Well named brew. It pours a bit cloudy and orange with a small orangy head. Lots of florals and citrus fruit in the aroma, some caramel sweetness in there as well. The flavor is super potent and fresh hoppy. You feel the bitterness all the way from start to finish. Itís a hop assault with a pretty good burn.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours golden peach/amber with a four finger off-white ringy/clingy head. Huge fresh floral hoppy aroma. Full bodied with creamish carbonation. Itís very hoppy. First I thought resin; then I thought grapefruit. Then it was sort of floral. Definitely sort of hoppy. More than. The malt base is supportive, but fairly obliterated. This will stand up to just about any DIPA. Excellent.

On tap at the brewey. Pours copper with an attractive apricot head and a floral pine aroma. There is a smooth caramel malt flavor with some carbonation and a brilliant bitter hop finish. Well done.

On cask @ Beachwood BBQ. Murky brownish orange with a two finger off-white head, fading to a thick film before long. Big tropical fruit and floral hop nose dominates with some dank herbal weed. There are also some caramel malts, and donít seem to be too sweet like donít of Rubicon beers are. Flavor is a bitter rocking hops explosion that borders astringency, but very tasty. Seems slightly more herbal than the aroma, though still very tropical. Minimal caramel malts are noted, and no sweetness. Burps herbal fruity hops! Bitterness peaks at a 7-8, bone dry finish, with some light alcohol warmth--also Beachwood has it listed at 7.9%. Medium body with very light prickly carbonation. I think Iíve got hops in my teeth.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2011 On cask, one of the first pours. Huge head for a cask beer with a muddy yellow body, and tons of hop sediment. Aroma is freaking DELICIOUS! Hops, hops, hops and more hops! Mango and pine, herbaceous and awesome! Taste is real hoppy and herbal with a nice sweetness. A bit yeasty, but then again it was one of the first pours. Cask conditioned mouthfeel, with decent bubbles at that! 948417:4.2

Bottle marked at 8.2% (fresh). Pours with a clear golden-orange hue with a large, and lasting, creamy, just off-white head. Good retention and lace. Aromas are hop forward. Spicy, citrusy, juicy, herbal, tropical fruit. Seems like Columbus paired with some Simcoe. Very floral. Dank. Apricots. Some noticeable alcohol. Malt bill is just a hint in the background. Some esters. Flavors lightly grainy sweet, floral. Light bitterness but quite a bit of hop flavor. Sweet, fruity, floral, tropical fruit, light pine and lightly spicy. Light esters. Very nice balance for a big DIPA, some alcohol noticeable. Medium bubbles, lightly creamy, warming, dry mouthfeel. Good beer, but not as good as the cask version I had a few years back. 848415:3.9

I had this at the Brewery and was very happy and satisfied. Definitely a double. Full of flavor and well balanced. Really hits the spot. From one hop head to another. Get to this brewery and try this beer! Youíll be glad you did.

Draft. Rich amber with a low off-white head. Grapefruit, pine, and sweet caramel malt. Grapefruit, pine tar, and caramel flavor with good bitterness. Not as sweet as I’d have thought from reading the reviews. Medium body. Lingering pine resin and grapefruit with sweet caramel.

On tap at O’Briens. Backlogged rating. Pours a dark orange with a medium one-finger white head that settles to a fine ring. Pine needle aroma with firm malted barley behind. The flavor leans quite sweet and malty, with a dry-hopped bitterness smashing the palate quickly towards the end of each sip. A good amount of carbonation gives a medium crispness to the finish, taking the edge off the sweet malts. Tasty!

On-tap at O’Briens. Pours hazy amber with a thin white head, good lace. Smells hoppy and very fruity sweet. Slight plastic smell as well. Tastes is very sweet and lemony hoppy. The sweetness lingers. Very nice flavor. Surprisingly thin, medium body, good carbonation.

draft @ brewery - served in a goblet; clear, glowing orange and thin, white head fades quickly; syrupy, sweet and juicy hop aromas; huge nose on this one; sweetness smooths out the bitterness as the flavors never quite match the aromas; dry and bitter finish; seems to hold it together well despite all the hop varieties for a very tasty double IPA
