3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bomber purchased at South Bay Drugs. This IPA poured as a sparkling brass color with a thin layer of film for a head. The aroma is a decent serving of west coast hops in the citrus style you could expect, accept, this was tamer and subdued. The drink was a warm alcohol and tart bitter hop flavor presence which made for an unusual drink that I’m used to but overall decent and making a passing grade for a standard IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The glow from within the glass is bright even though the liquid is very cloudy. The body is deep orange, the slowly receding head is creamy and light beige. The aroma is evident from afar, fresh hops billowing from the glass. Grapefruit is the prominent characteristic, folowed by pine needles, earth, lightly toasted grains aplenty and miniscule amounts of alcohol and sugars. this aroma is very one-dimensional, but unified and flawless thus far. The flavor is moderately bittewr, very lightly astringent, mildly sweet, doughy, tangibly resinous and very drinkable. The flavor is all forward, with little on the backside but light, airy bitterness. The finish is dry, medium bitterness lingering for a short while, eventually giving way to grains. The mouthfeel is a little shy of adequately carbonated but it’s fizzy. A light-medium to medium body is sticky and progresses slowly across the palate. Solid, a good session beer that is somewhat refreshing, also far from extraordinary.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hmm this IPA is run of the mill. Nothing wrong with it but not overly exciting. It is like a Toyota Camry comapred to a Ferrari or like Jennifer Aniston compared to Scarlett Johansson.
It does what an IPA is usppoed to do but not in a spectular fashion. Hoppy flavors are there but all that dominant. Maltiness is there as well but again not really in a spectular fashion. Solid but not exciting.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from City Beer Store. Classic orange-brown IPA color, nice and hazy, long lasting off white head. Citrus and pine hops in the nose, mostly pine hops with a good bit of bready malt, very bitter. Pretty thin. Not distinguished but I’d drink it again if someone bought it for me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from Hi-Time Cellar. Citrus piney hop aromas are strong, malt evident. Hop flavors come through well, malt struggles to balance the strong bitterness. Overall this is real close to being a good west coast IPA, but falls short on balance.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, brewed by Sudwerk for Rubicon. Pours with some chill haze that clears soon enough. Citrus and grass hop aroma with grainy malt and alcohol. Decent hop and malt flavor but some metallic, vegetable and metal notes detract. Prickly finishing bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted during the San Diego Fesival of Beer. Nice hoppy aromas. Very citrus and fruity. Flavor fell off a bit, still very hoppy, just not quite as pleasant as the aroma was. Still good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz from HiTime. Big pour, halfway between amber and gold, with a decent head (average retention). Very, very bitter beer, but a bit one dimensional in the hop profile. Refreshing, potential quaffer if readily available, but not overly memorable.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pale orange-gold with a very thin, loose head. Low-level hops in the aroma along with honey, oranges, and some sweet malt. Very light flavor profile--thin and sweet with weak bitterness and vague hops flavors. It’s thin and watery mouthfeel doesn’t offer much either.
