Golden in color with an assertive hop bitterness. This beer won gold medals at The Great American Beer Festival in 1989 and 1990. A true American Classic.

Caramel malts, vanilla and floral hops come through on the aroma. Clouded copper color with a small foam and decent lacing. Caramel and nut malts upfront with balancing floral and citrus hops in the back. Alcohol makes its presence known on the finish. Overall, a pretty decent IPA with relatively balanced flavors. More on the malty side. B rating.

22oz bottle picked up at Bevmo
Appearance: Pours slightly hazy golden with a small white head and some lacing
Aroma: Citrus and fruity
Taste: Grapefruit, caramel and bitter lemon zest
A decent IPA, bitter hops overpower the beer.

Smells great, tastes great and you can’t beat the $3.99 price for a bomber. I can’t add anything that hasn’t been already said other than it tastes like I would imagine that beer made out of some killer bud would taste like. Pretty floral and easy on the gullet.

Bottle. Pours a foggy orange color with a decent, frothy head. Subtle, tart aroma with a nice hoppy kick. Tight taste with a combo of tart fruit, nice hops, and dry finish. Seems very springy. Delightful brew.

Pretty good. I liked it. I had this one a while ago but forgot to rate it. It was yummy and what I expected. Hops were good and malt was on par to blend this into a major decent beer.

Cask at the Rubicon. Pours hazy amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma is fruity in an earthy way. Med body. Flavor is edgy, earthy, with a little resin. Leaves a nice bitter aftertaste.

Pine hop aroma. Golden amber color with a decent white head. Starts with medium pine hop flavor, there’s a bit of spritzy carbonation, and there’s a little balancing malt to go with a decent hoppy bitterness through the finish. The finish bitter is assertive and it lasts and lasts.

On tap at the brewpub. This one pours golden orange with an off white head. The aroma is tropical with some peach, grapefruit, and pineapple. Also a hint of pine and caramel. The flavor is well balanced but still has very strong hop flavor and bitterness with the same flavors as in the aroma. The caramel malt stands out well, but behind the hops. Not overpowering, but still a pretty potent IPA.

This brew is a clear amber-gold color with a medium thin white head that diminishes quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Citrusy aroma with notes of malt. Medium body with flavors of hops, citrus and earthy malt. The finish is herbal and earthy with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
