On Tap at the original Brewforia Beer Market, Meridian, ID Deep dark brown with redish edges, Full thick lasting light tan head. Nutty light toasted malt aroma. Sweet woody brown malt flavors. Some sweetness and a little of that sourness that some browns and porters have. Nice finish. Papery trailer.

"i was hoping northern Nevada would be represented better than this, especially being that their Angel Creek Amber is so good...but this beer is weak & boring, even if it were classified as a brown. worst porter i’ve ever had."

Brown murky pour with a fast subsiding tan head. Aroma is somewhat sweet and estery like overripe banana. Taste is very moderate roasty, bready maltyness and a bit too faint all around. Slightly watery.

ClubGonzo (4232) - Bergen, NORWAY - JAN 15, 2014
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a near-black brown body with a small off-white head. Nose is estery mandarin, unripe banana, chocolate and hints of coffee in the back. Taste is chocolate, lactic sweet tones, mild leather and hints of nuts and licorice. Watery body, soft carbonation. Not really bad, just not very good either.

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 4/20
Beerenberger (1538) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JAN 6, 2014
(12 oz.bottle compliments of Kenny Boy) Nose of chocolate and notes of roasted malts. Pours a solid dark brown with a half inch, quickly disappearing, tan head producing abundent lacing. The taste is initially bready/grainy followed with a fruit sweetness in the finish. The promise of the nose is sadly unfulfilled. Medium-full body and medium carbonation. Overall, the lack of chocolate and roasted malts is disappointing. This anything but a "robust" porter.
