A blonde ale with a thin lacing white head. A sweet butterscotch with light strawberry esters, a bit of solvent. In mouth, a sweet malt with light buttery notes, a bit of German hops. Light bodied. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 10 2009.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Rudders Brew Pub. Clear golden colour with a thin lace clinging to the glass. The majority of the head seems to dissipate quickly. Faint aroma. Bitter texture with a slight citrus hint. The beer has this yeasty undertone which makes me think something is not quite right. Overall not bad and easily a session beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bold yellow body with a small white head and lacing. Sweet mild aroma of muted fruit, pale malt and very light hint of yeast that becomes familiar as I work my way through a sampler. Quaffable sweet palate is lightly fruity with just enough bitterness to not quite balance out the sweetness. Slightly fuller than average palate. Not particularly exciting but quite quaffable. Better suited to patio weather than the blustery day I am sampling it on.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pale golden colour with a frothy white head. Toasty, light caramel, and grapefruit aroma. Cereal malts with a fruity, citrus, and lightly piny bitter finish. Light bodied, crisp, and refreshing.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sparkling gold colour. Slightly fruity (pear, peach) aroma with notes of white bread crust. Sweetish body has a pear/apple ester profile and a warming bready malt note underneath. Finishes with a slightly lemony bitter hop note. Serviceable rendition of the old brewpub standard.
