3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Certainly not a best bitter and not a very distinguished ordinary bitter either. To be frank, it was never much to write home about when made by the old Ruddles. However, it is perfectly acceptable as a session bitter, having a good ration of bitterness and does use unusual hops. Slightly more assertive than Greene King's IPA, which has a similar ABV content. Cask at the Unicorn Hotel, Ripon, September 2013. Clear dark gold with white head. A little hoppy, pine and apple aroma, bitter and a tad bit dry taste. Medium body, malty finish and dry.

Cask @ the White House Leicester. Rather average bitter. It's cheap and it's not horrible. Easy drinking with an ever so slight bitterness.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
At around £2 a pint (in London) I donít expect much. Looks the part, amber colour, thick dense head. aroma is lacking. Tastes smooth, very easy drinking. Ididnít expect a lot, but it is target nice. better than average bitter.

Rather bland taste, nothing nasty just a "nothingness to it". 1.90 a pint in JDW so you get what you pay for. An average beer if ever there was one.

Shared with Dom at Spoons. Ruddles Best. Iíd like to try their worst. Biscuit. I like biscuits, I even like them wet when fallen in tea. But more than this. This is pointless. Well, not pointless, it has some points. But they are pointless. Ya dig?
