2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Has a (to me) very typical English macro ale smoothness, the sweet malts are so slick that it is hard for my interest to get a toe hold. This type of beer is so good at slickly sliding down your gullet unnoticed except for the initial sweetness and a final unflavoured bitterness. Drinkable, but not something Iíll think about tomorrow.

Initially poured a full glass (10cm+) of off-white head that quickly dissipated to a few bubbles. No lacing. Low carbonation. Weak aroma of malt and floral hops. Taste dominated by hops. Light body. Long hops bitterness finish. OK but not outstanding.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured a clear copper-amber with a thin head. Got aromas of grain, a light floral note and maybe a little skunk (itís bottled in clear glass). The taste is more interesting, with dark bread and raisins, lifted by a bit more bitterness than I was expecting. Medium body, leading to a mostly clean finish. Not my absolute favourite ESB, but not bad.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Classy bitter aroma with sime hops in the nose. Taste has some honey in the background. Great ale to start an evening.
