2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A fair pint, but nothing special. Dark blonde in colour, there is little aroma. The taste starts a little floral but the hops disappear quickly leaving a slightly sweet malt taste. Uninspiring, but ok for a preprandial postwork pint on a hot day

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask@blackdoor (5.2 recipe actually..). Coppery cloudy. Good, slightly floral hoppy, somewhat nutty caramel malty. Soft full body, casky murkyness, herbal bitter. Really nice, reminds me of fullerís, but more of a floral hop bouquet.

Retro review from Spring 2012 Wetherspoons Beer festival; calling trade descriptions again this is not an IPA.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pint at the Cumberland, Newcastle. Golden orange with a white head. Quite restrained in its citrusiness, leant a bit more to tropical fruit flavours, but with well balanced sharpness. I was disappointed to have to move on, as I would have liked to spend a bit more time with this beer.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Unpleasant lingering sour bitterness which is exaggerated by the ales strength.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. ABV 5.2%. I was expecting more from this, the ABV certainly doesnít make its presence felt. Poured amber with a ring of white head; a light fruity aroma; a light body with a sweet tropical fruit flavour; and a soft, slightly musty, bitterness to finish. I expect more from something at this strength that calls itself an IPA.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2012 Little aroma, on the light side for the strength, small hit of hops on the intake, slightly more drinkable than the average IPA
