3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from ASDA Harrogate. Black body. Mid tan medium head. Roast nose, oats, tiniest *hint*of chocolate. Maybe a smidgen of chocolate malt. Bitter. Very dry finish. My suspicion is that this is an accountant’s beer, as I can’t imagine a relatively good brewer like Rudgate messing up so badly. If this had just been labelled "stout", then fine. But when this is labelled "Chocolate Stout", it is very disappointing to get so little chocolate.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, from Asda Hull. Jet black, thin but lasting off white head and moderate condition. Initial roasted barley in the nose with a developing sweet chocolate note laced with a muted fruity berry aroma. Quite bitter in the mouth, with dry, roasted barley notes and a faint bitter chocolate powder note. Mostly lingering dry bitter roasted barley in the finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask. Dark ruby, lingering beige head. Smores in the nose and taste. A nice rich butter quality that goes well with the milk chocolate characteristic. Light bitterness on the finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Recently launched, brilliantly full body and just the right bitterness of rich dark chocolate. Impressive, but not something I could drink too often.

On cask at The House of Trembling Madness. Pours a dark brown colour with a ruby glow and a decent light tan head. Aroma of hot buttered popcorn, caramel and chocolate. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Lingering chocolate and popcorn again and a little dry. Not bad.
